An injury can happen in the blink of an eye. This is especially true when children are having fun at the playground. To enhance park safety level and avoid unnecessary costs, it is crucial to conduct regular playground maintenance.
In 2016, the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) reported 8300 children between the ages of 5 and 14 were injured in the playground. Some of these injuries were a direct result of fragile playground equipment. A poorly managed playground places children at risk of being injured while having fun. These injuries could have been prevented if the playground equipment had been regularly maintained.
UMS understands that playgrounds are long-term investments and can become costly if they are not well-maintained. However, if proper care is given, the life expectancy of this equipment can last for decades. It could also minimise the risk of injury to playground users, reduce complaints and avoid potential lawsuits.
